June 2010 INDUSTRY NEWS: Beef prices as of late have been very soft and continue to offer major bargains across the board. Top Sirloins, Striploins, Tenderloins and Shortloins are available for prices that are upto 30% off from most summers in earlier years. Prices on graded AA product is similar to imported prices! This was not predictable a few months back. Volatile prices are a result of low demand and slower economy in general. This is a fantastic time to square away some deals on cuts that are in high demand during summer months. Cuts such as Sirloins and Striploins should be taken advantage of at these rock bottom prices.
RETIREMENT As of June 18th, 2010 Valerie Anderson (Val) has retired from Newton's Hi Quality Meats and has decided to settle down in Quesnel, BC with her husband Gary Anderson. We wish them the best in their golden years.
