OCTOBER 2009 INDUSTRY NEWS: This year has seen a large amount of industry consolidation where some of the large packers such as IBP have forgone their controlling interest in Alberta resulting the in that plant being sold to XL Packers. All the goods now coming out of the ex-IBP plant is labeled as 'XL Lakeside'. This year's economy is also testing the limits of smaller retailers in terms of financial flexibility. Businesses that can generate the cash flow will thrive while others will quickly see a severe reduction in the credit allowed to conduct business.
Fall is a fantastic time to seek bargains on Steak cuts. We have great deals on most loin & rib cuts, please speak to your sales rep for further information. We are seeing imported beef supply dwindling until the New Year at which time we will be able to offer New Zealand product again.
